Decal Installers

The installers found on this page are the de facto versions of Decal, and you should never install any version of Decal from any other site - no matter what else you have been told.

I will not support any version of Decal that does not come from the official site. I will also not support any versions of Decal prior to the most recent, non-beta release.

This is also the location where you should get the Decal Support Libraries if necessary for a Decal Plugin to run.

You may or may not need the following to run any software found at this site. My suggestion is that you try to run and use any software found at this site prior to installing any of the files listed below. If you are diligent about keeping the programs that run on your computer up to date, including your operating system, then you will likely not need any of these.

Windows Installer

For installation scripting I use Microsoft Windows Installer. For the end user this means that to install the software found at this site your system needs to understand how to open a Windows Installer Package file. These files end in an msi extension (*.msi).

Windows XP Service Pack 2 contains Windows Installer 3.0 and therefore can't be installed or upgraded by this redistributable.

Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML)

XML is a very popular method of storing and retrieving data for later use. Some of the programs found at this site require that your system be capable of understanding how to interpret an XML file.

The hotfix listed contains functionality that will allow applications using MSXML to continue to function correctly after security update 832894, Security Update for Internet Explorer, has been applied.

Microsoft Libraries Update

This update is for customers who do not have any Visual Studio 6.0 products installed on their computer but have installed applications that include 6.0 libraries. This update will correct problems in the 6.0 libraries but will not modify or replace earlier libraries.
